Tra sentimento e tradizione, la Settimana Santa a Procida è uno spettacolo suggestivo e irrinunciabile, di grande colore e spiritualità.
Dopo mesi di preparazioni e la lunga notte del Giovedì Santo, interamente dedicata al perfezionamento dei lavori, dall’alba del Venerdì una caratteristica Processione vede sfilare, tra i vicoli acciottolati dell’isola, una serie di carri – detti “misteri” – rappresentanti scene della Bibbia e della vita miracolosa di Cristo.
La folla fotografa, incantata, queste vere e proprie opere artistiche, cui la gioventù procidana si dedica da sempre con passione e fede, portando avanti una tradizione ormai divenuta famosa in tutto il Golfo di Napoli.
Consolidata ormai da decenni eppure sempre emozionate è la Sagra del Mare, tradizione con cui i Procidani celebrano il loro ancestrale e imprescindibile legame con il mare, fonte di vita, di ricchezza, di malinconia.
La festa si struttura in tre giornate – solitamente tra la fine di luglio e gli inizi di agosto – i cui protagonisti indiscussi sono il mare, le sue leggende e i suoi personaggi.
Alla messa solenne in memoria dei caduti in mare, segue la celebrazione di Graziella, protagonista dell’omonimo romanzo di Alphonse de Lamartine, con la sfilata di giovani ragazze procidane che mostrano i costumi antichi e tradizionali dell’isola. Infine, il weekend di festa si chiude con un concerto nella Piazza della Marina Grande e con un fantastico spettacolo pirotecnico.
Nell’incantevole borgo medievale di Terra Murata si tiene, nel mese di novembre, la decennale Festa del Vino: un vero e proprio inno gioviale e spumeggiante in onore dell’antica tradizione vitivinicola dell’isola.
Attraggono numerosi turisti non solo fiumi di nettare d’uva bianca e rossa, ma anche le sfide culinarie dei più rinomati ristoranti dell’isola, che presentano agli ospiti le loro prelibatezze nel rispetto della tradizione procidana.
A suggellare, poi, la perfezione della Festa, tra buon vino e piatti tipici, è la cornice musicale di gruppi emergenti e un’area giochi ad hoc per i più piccini.
Non esiste scenario più suggestivo e adatto alla musica jazz della Marina Corricella di Procida, porticciolo di pescatori che ospita, da qualche anno, un Festival musicale organizzato dall’associazione culturale Artistika & Arazzatoja.
Nella Piazzetta Massimo Troisi, dove fu girato l’ultimo film dell’attore, Il Postino, si sussegue nel mese di agosto una serie imperdibile di appuntamenti musicali, le cui sperimentazioni sonore vanno dal jazz al rock, fino al soul, con un’unica caratteristica comune: l’impronta partenopea.
Grandi nomi della scena campana si incontrano nella preziosa location della Corricella, per condividere, insieme a turisti e isolani, la passione per la buona musica.
